Lydia and Tim’s magical September wedding in Leduc, Alberta

Lydia and Tim got married on a somewhat overcast, somewhat rainy, and completely perfect September day. The ceremony took place at St. Michael’s Catholic church in Leduc, Alberta. The beautiful little church sits right next to Telford Lake, making their wedding feel like something out of a romance movie.

When I think back on their day, what stands out to me is the feeling of closeness and friendship that surrounded the couple. Though they had a large wedding party, you could tell that each person standing alongside them was someone they loved, and who loved them, with their whole heart. My personal favourite detail is that Lydia’s own mother was her maid of honour – and that made my own mama heart swell. I couldn’t help thinking to myself, wow, I hope my own daughter feels that close to me when she is grown.

The weather was good for the majority of the day, but during the last segment of their bridal portraits, the rain started coming down pretty hard. Those rainy images ended up being some of my favourites, as I’m sure you’ll soon see.
