Darby and I have been mutual followers for years… I remember seeing her post about her daughter’s home birth and cheering her on, even though she had no idea who I was.
Over the past few years we’ve exchanged messages and tried to make plans to meet up. While the initial ones fell through, we DID coordinate family photos just outside of Calgary this past fall. I’ll call that a win!
I made it a goal of mine for 2025 to shoot as much film as I possibly could. I loved shooting the Rempels – I love the chaos of bigger families, and I loved the challenge of capturing them on film. Film requires a lot more thought, a lot more intention, behind each frame. I am definitely still learning, but I am so happy with this mix of digital and analog imagery, that, woven together, told the story of THEM.
